This traffic alert details the locations of road construction and other events that will affect the flow of traffic this weekend. This information is subject to change. Check the Weekly Traffic Advisory Check the Special Traffic Advisory

The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed for longer to allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally permitted to begin set-up at 8 am and breakdown must be completed by 7 pm.

Manhattan

East 10th Street between Avenue D and FDR Service Road

This street will be closed 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday through 9/27/24 for parallel conveyance sewer installation.

East 16th Street between 5th Avenue and Union Square West

This street will be closed from 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday through 8/30/24 for gas service installation.

West 35th Street between Hudson Boulevard East and 10th Avenue

This street will be closed from 7 pm to 3 am weeknights through 9/3/24 for use of crane to de-install/install window panels.

West 37 Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue

This street will be closed from 1 am to 10 am Saturday and Sunday through 9/1/24 to facilitate crane operation.

West 37th Street between 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue

This street will be closed 24/7 through 11/14/24 for Grand Central Terminal train shed project.

East 56th Street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/1/24 for concrete pumping operations.

East 57th Street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/1/24 for use of knuckle boom to deliver steel to existing roof.

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 11/12/24 for concrete pouring and knuckle boom/boom truck operations for new building project.

East 81 Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/2/24 for installation of new sewer and water service.

East 87th Street between East End Avenue and York Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday through 9/1/24 to facilitate crane operation.

East 91 Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/9/24 for installation of new sewer and water services.

East 91st Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue

This street will be closed 24/7 through 8/31/24 for use of knuckle boom and concrete pump while streets excavating occurring.

East 93 Street between Park Avenue Lexington Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/15/24 to facilitate crane operation.

West 93rd Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 8/30/24 to facilitate crane operation.

West 94 Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Columbus Avenue

This street will be closed Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm through 9/1/24 to facilitate major gas installation.

East 103 Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue

This street will be closed Nightly from 11 pm to 5 am through 9/13/24 to facilitate Major Gas installation.

East 110th Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 3 pm Saturday and/or Sunday through 9/1/24 for use of knuckle boom rigging/hoisting operations, replacement HVAC units.

West 112th Street between Riverside Drive and Broadway

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 8/30/24 to facilitate crane operation.

West 162 Street between Saint Nicholas Avenue and Broadway

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm through 9/2/24 to facilitate conduit installation.

West 225th Street between Marble Hill Avenue and Broadway

This street will be closed from 7 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday through 8/30/24 to facilitate crane operation.

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 4 pm through 9/3/24 to facilitate Major Gas installation.

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/1/24 for associated closure.

Christopher Street between Bedford Street and Bleecker Street

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/1/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Mulberry Street between Grand Street and Broome Street

This street will be closed from 6 am to 11:59 am Saturday and Sunday through 9/1/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Murray Street between Broadway and Church Street

This street will be closed from 8 am to 8 pm Saturday and Sunday through 8/31/24 for facade repairs from boom truck.

Barclay Street between Church Street and West Broadway

This street will be closed from 12:01 am to 10 pm Sunday through 9/1/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Catherine Lane between Broadway and Lafayette Street

This street will be closed from 8 am to 8 pm Saturday and Sunday through 9/1/24 for installation of sidewalk shed over the roadway.

Harlem River Ramp between 2nd Avenue Southbound and 2nd Avenue Northbound

This street will be closed from 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday through 9/2/24 for installation of the new 13kv feeders across Harlem River.

FDR Service Road between East 10th Street and East 6th Street

This street will be closed from 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday through 9/27/24 for parallel conveyance sewer installation.

FDR Drive Southbound between Jackson Street and Cherry Street

Single-lane will be closed Friday from 11 pm to 7 am next morning, and Sunday from 11 pm to 10 am next morning. Double-lane will be closed Tuesday to Friday from 1 am to 5 am, Saturday from 1 am to 6 am, and Sunday from 1 am to 7 am. These closures are necessary to facilitate East Side Coastal Resiliency Project and will continue through September 11, 2026.

FDR Drive between Montgomery Street and East 15 Street

Single-lane northbound and/or southbound will be closed Monday to Thursday from 10 pm to 5 am next morning, Saturday from 12:01 am to 9 am, and Sunday from 1 am to 11 am. Double-lane will be closed Tuesday to Friday from 1 am to 5 am, Saturday from 1 am to 7 am, and Sunday from 1 am to 7 am. These closures are necessary to facilitate median reconstruction and will continue through August 15, 2026.

South Street/FDR Drive Service Road between FDR Drive southbound exit 3 and Jackson Street

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/1/24 for associated closure.

Jane Street between Joe DiMaggio Highway and Washington Street

This street will be closed Friday from 7 am to 4 pm through 10/7/24 to facilitate Knuckle Boom operation.

Park Avenue between East 116 Street and East 117 Street

This street will be closed from 9 pm to 5 am weeknights through 10/31/24 to erect the gantries for the Park Avenue viaduct.

Park Avenue between East 117 Street and East 118 Street

This street will be closed fully closed from 9 pm to 5 am weeknights through 10/20/24 to erect the gantries for the Park Avenue viaduct.

Park Avenue between East 118 Street and East 119 Street

This street will be closed Friday from 9 pm to 5 am Monday through 9/15/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Festivals, Parades and Events

The 40th Annual Brazilian Day Festival

The following streets will be closed for the 40th Annual Brazilian Day Festival on Sunday, September 1st, 2024 at the discretion of the NYPD in Manhattan.

Manhattan/Queens

Ed Koch/Queensboro Bridge

Single-lane Queens-bound south upper roadway will be closed 24 hours from Sunday to Monday. Double-lane Queens-bound south upper roadway will be closed 24 hours on Tuesday. During second lane closure, one Manhattan-bound upper roadway lane will reverse to service Queens-bound traffic. Single-lane Manhattan-bound north upper roadway will be closed 24 hours from Wednesday to Saturday and double-lane will be closed Wednesday to Friday from 9:30 am to 3 pm and Tuesday to Friday from 8 pm to 5 am next morning. Queens-bound south outer roadway will be closed Sunday to Saturday from 11 pm to 6 am next morning. These closures are necessary to facilitate replacement of upper roadway.

Manhattan/Brooklyn

Manhattan Bridge

Single-lane at a time on the upper and lower roadways will be closed Monday to Friday from 10 am to 3 pm and Monday from 10 pm to 5 am next morning to facilitate maintenance.

Williamsburg Bridge

Single-lane Brooklyn-bound south outer roadway will be closed from Tuesday to Friday from 6 am to 10 am. Single-lane Manhattan-bound north outer roadway will be closed Tuesday to Friday from 6 pm to 5 am next morning. Single-lane Manhattan-bound north inner roadway will be closed Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and from 8 pm to 5 am next morning. These closures are necessary to facilitate Structural Strengthening and rehabilitation.

Manhattan/Bronx

Broadway Bridge over the Harlem River

Right lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3 pm and alternating center lane in either direction will be closed Monday to Friday from 10 am to 2 pm, to facilitate installation of steel, mechanical, and electrical components. Alternating sidewalk closures will be in effect.

Madison Avenue Bridge over Harlem River

Single-lane at a time in either direction will be closed Monday to Friday from 10 am to 2 pm. Single-lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 10 pm to 6 am next morning, and Saturday from 10 pm to 7 am next morning. Bridge will be fully closed Monday to Friday from 12:01 am to 5 am. Bronx-bound will be closed Saturday from 12:01 am to 6 am and Manhattan-bound will be closed Saturday from 12:01 am to 7 am. These closures are necessary to facilitate bridge rehabilitation and will continue through August 31, 2024. Motorist may use 145 Street Bridge as an alternate route.

East 153rd Street between Bergen Avenue and 3rd Avenue

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 4 pm through 8/30/24 for concrete pours and material deliveries.

East 170 Street between Prospect Avenue and Bristow Street

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 2 pm through 9/5/24 to facilitate concrete pumping operation.

East 176th Street between Anthony Avenue and East Tremont Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday through 9/11/24 to facilitate crane operation.

East 177th Street between Morris Avenue and Grand Concourse Boulevard

This street will be closed from 9 am to 2 pm Monday to Friday through 9/4/24 to install electric reinforcement.

East 223rd Street between White Plain Road and Carpenter Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday through 9/18/24 for use of boom, knuckle boom and concrete pump to work on new building.

Inwood Avenue between West 169th Street and West Clarke Place

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 10/1/24 for use of concrete pumps, boom trucks and knuckle booms.

Boone Avenue between East 172 Street and East 173 Street

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 4 pm when school not in session or from 9 am to 2 pm when school is in session through 9/9/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Anthony Avenue between East 176th Street and East 175th Street

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 9/16/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Carter Avenue between East 176th Street and East Tremont Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday through 9/11/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Weiher Court between 3rd Avenue and Washington Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday through 9/20/24 for concrete pouring and booming to erect new building.

Broadway in the vicinity of Henry Hudson Parkway Bridge overpass

Northbound will be reduced to one travel lane and parking lane will be closed. Northbound sidewalk and bike lane will be shifted. These closures are necessary to facilitate rehabilitation of the Henry Hudson Parkway Bridge and will continue through August 30, 2024.

Grant Avenue between East 169th Street and East 170th Street

This street will be fully closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/3/24 for construction of Grant Park (Contract X271-119M).

Hutchinson River Parkway Bridge over the Hutchinson River

Northbound lanes will be intermittently closed starting Friday, August 9 through Friday September 6, 2024, Monday to Friday from 12 am to 5 am, to facilitate removal and refurbishing of the live load assemblies. Motorists are advised to use the Shore Road Bridge as an alternate route.

Glebe Avenue between Westchester Avenue and Lyon Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday through 9/30/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Whitlock Avenue between Westchester Avenue and Lowell Street

This street will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 5 am to 9 pm (except weekend of 8/17 and 8/24) through 9/2/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Loring Place North between Hall of Fame Terrace and West 183 Street

This street will be closed from 7 pm to 11 pm Monday to Friday through 9/2/24 for use of boom truck for lifting materials to school building.

Furman Avenue between East 240th Street and East 241st Street

This street will be closed from 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday through 9/22/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Jerome Avenue/Plaza Drive between Elliot Place and Marcy Place

This street will be closed from 9 am to 2 pm Monday to Friday through 9/29/24 for use of boom, knuckle boom and concrete pump to work on new building.

Cruger Avenue between Sagamore Street and Bronxdale Avenue

This street will be closed from 6 am to 4 pm Friday, and 5 pm to 9 pm Sunday through 9/27/24 for MTA contract C-35311 work zone and MP 6.

Mohegan Avenue between Hornaday Place and Bronx Park South

This street will be closed from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday through 9/30/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Cross Bronx Expressway between Arthur Avenue and Clay Avenue

Single-lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 12:01 am to 5 am and double-lane will be closed from 1 am to 5 am through August 30, 2024, except holidays, to facilitate in-depth inspections.

Entrance Ramp from Southbound Sheridan Boulevard (NY-895) to Westbound Bruckner Expressway (I-278)

This ramp will be closed through December 24, 2024, to facilitate Hunts Point Interstate Access Improvement Project. Trucks and buses are advised to use the exit ramp towards Edgewater Road/Hunts Point Market and follow the detour signs and use the Leggett Avenue entrance ramp to westbound Bruckner Expressway. Cars are advised to use the temporary exit ramp towards Whitlock Avenue and follow the detour signs to westbound Bruckner Expressway.

Major Deegan Expressway (northbound) between Exit 3 and Entrance ramp north of East 138 Street

Right-lane will become an exit only lane at Exit 3 24/7. Additional lane will be closed Monday to Friday from 11 pm to 5 am, Saturday and Sunday from 1 am to 8 am, and Sunday night from 10 pm to 5 am next morning through March 3, 2025, to facilitate East 138 Street Bridge replacement. Full closure may occur Monday to Friday between 12 am and 5 am for demolition and erection of the superstructure.

Brooklyn/Queens

Metropolitan Avenue Bridge over English Kills

Single-lane in either direction will be closed Monday to Friday from 11 pm to 5 am next morning and Saturday or Sunday from 7 am to 2 pm (as needed) through September 30, 2024, to facilitate maintenance.

4th Street between Hoyt Street and Smith Street

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 9/30/24 for pumping and booming for construction on 8 story new building.

East 9 Street between Kings Highway and Quentin Road

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 4 pm through 9/30/24 to facilitate crane operation.

12th Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 4 pm through 10/31/24 to facilitate hoisting and pumping operation.

East 12 Street between Shore Parkway and Gillmore Court

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 4 pm through 8/31/24 to facilitate Water Main installation.

West 15 Street between Surf Avenue and Mermaid Avenue

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 4 pm through 8/31/24 to facilitate Telescopic Lift operation.

West 16 Street between Mermaid Avenue and Surf Avenue

This street will be fully closed from 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday through 9/27/24 for concrete truck and concrete pump.

22nd Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 11/16/24 for knuckle boom operations for new building.

24th Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue

This street will be closed 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 9/13/24 for booming/pumping operations for new building construction.

25th Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 10/16/24 to facilitate crane operation.

West 33rd Street between Surf Avenue and Mermaid Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 10/8/24 for installation of steam.

44th Street between 13th Avenue and 14th Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 11/21/24 to facilitate crane operation.

49th Street between 10th Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 8/30/24 for use of boom truck to lift 80-ton AHU.

66 Street between 14 Avenue and New Utrecht Avenue

This street will be closed Friday from 9 am to 4 pm through 11/5/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Park Avenue between East 118 Street and East 119 Street

This street will be closed Friday from 9 pm to 5 am through 9/15/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Carroll Street between Nevins Street and 3rd Avenue

This street will be closed from 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday through 9/21/24 for lifting materials to roof with boom truck.

Carroll Street between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/1/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Third Street Bridge over the Gowanus Canal

Bridge will be intermittently closed Monday to Friday from 11 pm to 5 am next morning through August 30, 2024, to facilitate urgent repairs. Motorists are advised to use either Union Street Bridge of the Ninth Street Bridge as an alternate route.

7 Avenue Bridge over LIRR between 62 Street and 64 Street

Alternating lane will be closed in both directions Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm through October 4, 2024, to facilitate bridge rehabilitation. Approximately 60 parking spots will be eliminated, and the travel lane will be shifted to the parking lane.

26 Avenue by Belt Parkway Bridge Overpass

Eastbound parking lane will be fenced off as a staging area for underdeck rehabilitation work on the Belt Parkway Bridge. Closure will continue through, approximately end of December 2024. South side sidewalk and eastbound traffic will be maintained at all times.

50 Street Bridge over LIRR between 18 Avenue and 19 Avenue

Approximately 30 parking spots will be eliminated. Sidewalks will be closed, and alternating pedestrian walkways will be provided in the parking lane. These closures are necessary to facilitate bridge rehabilitation.

Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Queens-bound between Atlantic Avenue and Brooklyn Bridge

Single-lane will be closed Tuesday to Saturday from 1 am to 5 am through September 19, 2024, except Labor Day, to facilitate MTA Manhole repairs.

Elmwood Avenue between East 3rd Street and East 4th Street

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 9/10/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Gerry Street between Harrison Avenue and Throop Avenue

This street will be closed Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm through 10/17/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Grand Avenue between Fulton Street and Lefferts Place

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 10/7/24 for full roadway closure corresponding permit# B01-2024176-C10.

Grand Avenue between Fulton Street and Lefferts Place

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 10/7/24 for full roadway closure corresponding permit# B01-2024179-D44.

Williams Avenue between East New York Avenue and Herkimer Street

This street will be fully closed from 10 pm to 6 am Monday to Friday through 9/9/24 to facilitate utility relocations for new 48” steel trunk.

This street will be fully closed from 10 pm to 6 am Monday to Friday through 9/9/24 to facilitate utility relocations for new 48” steel trunk.

Rockwell Place Fulton Street and Dekalb Avenue

This street will be fully closed from 6 am to 4 pm Friday and 5 am to 9 pm Saturday and Sunday through 11/12/24 for MTA# C-40838 Rehab of pump room at 1026 Rockwell Place.

Wilson Street between Bedford Avenue and Wythe Place

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 10/24/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Hamilton Avenue Bridge over Gowanus Canal

Manhattan-bound lanes will be closed Monday to Friday from 11 pm to 5 am next morning through August 30, 2024, to facilitate urgent repairs. All traffic will be shifted to Staten Island-bound with two lanes in each direction.

Hart Street between Wyckoff Avenue and Irving Avenue

This street will be closed Friday from 7 am to 4 pm through 11/2/24 to facilitate crane operation.

Bartlett Street between Throop Avenue and Broadway

This street will be closed from 9 am to 4 pm Friday through 9/10/24 for boom, knuckle boom to work on new building.

Kent Avenue between Division Avenue and South 11 Street

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am to 6 pm Sunday through 9/22/24 for installation of gas and service transfers.

Joralemon Street between Clinton Street and Court Street

This street will be fully closed from 10 am to 2 pm Friday through 9/6/24 for use of knuckle boom to install scaffolding.

Herkimer Street between Bend and Williams Avenue

This street will be closed from 10 pm to 6 am Monday to Friday through 9/9/24 for roadway closing.

Borden Avenue Bridge over Dutch Kills between 27 Avenue and Review Avenue

Beginning on Friday, August 9 through approximately October 31, 2024, the bridge will be reduced to alternate one-way operation with flaggers and the adjacent sidewalk will be closed Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 5 pm, to facilitate lead paint removal and repainting project.

Clearview Expressway between Throgs Neck Bridge and 500 feet south of Grand Central Parkway

Shoulder and adjacent lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 9 am to 3 pm, through November 1, 2024, to facilitate electrical repairs.

North Conduit Avenue Westbound between Cross Bay Boulevard Entrance Ramp and 149 Avenue

Beginning on Friday, August 9 through approximately September 19, 2024, single or double-lane will be closed from 10 pm to 6 am next morning to facilitate lead paint removal and protective coating operation on the Cross Bay Boulevard Bridge. Additionally, the staging area on North Conduit Avenue (on the local road, west of Cross Bay Boulevard) remains in place. The left lane is closed, and North Conduit Avenue is limited to one travel lane at this location.

Van Wyck Expressway Viaduct Rehabilitation

Single-lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Thursday from 10 pm to 5 am next morning, Saturday and Sunday from 1 am to 6 am. Double-lane in both directions will be closed Monday to Friday from 1 am to 5 am, Saturday and Sunday from 2 am to 6 am. These closures are necessary to facilitate bridge rehabilitation and will continue through September 30, 2024.

Single-lane northbound will be closed Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 2 pm, Monday to Thursday from 10 pm to 5 am next morning, Friday from 9 pm to 12 pm next day, and Saturday from 8 pm to 5 am next morning. Double-lane northbound will be closed Monday to Friday from 12:01 am to 5 am, Saturday from 12:01 am to 6 am, and Sunday from 12:01 am to 7:30 am.
